Coming back from picking up our daughter at LAX, we were hungry. I saw this Thai restaurant in the distance. I said let's try it! Well the food was fantastic! I had the Pad se ew and it was delicious. But our daughter had soft shell crab yellow curry that was spectacular! The sauce was amazing. We also had spring rolls which were really good! We left happy and full. It was like home cooked Thai food! I will definitely return to this new found gem!
Best Thai! Authentic, clean, super nice waiters! All around great spot! Would highly recommend!
My favorite neighborhood Thai restaurant. BKK is the best in the culver city area. BKK Noodle Soup: Pork broth that's flavorful and delicious! Pad See Ew: My favorite one in the area, not super sweet and heavy handed on hoisin sauce, Drunken Noodles: A good spicy alternative pad see ew. Steamed Veggies: I love ordering a side of steamed veggies here, they add a little garlic oil on top that makes the veggies so good! Also they're soft and have a good bite to the veggies.
Absolutely amazing. I'm very picky with Thai food and the first one I've tried out here on the west side, I was very pleased. Very flavorful and tasted very authentic. Definitely coming back to try other dishes.
The vibe of this Thai restaurant is unique : authenticity with a twist of modernity. The food is delicious. Typically, it's what you would get if you were in Bangkok. The service was a 5/5. The waitress was very nice and welcoming. Parking is free. I will definitely be back.
One of my favorite Thai places in West LA! Their curries have excellent flavor, and I *love* their tom yum soup. I've found very few places that offer small portions of the tom yum, so I really appreciate getting this as an app whenever I dine in or grab take-out! My only gripe here is consistency. On a few occasions, I've found the yellow curry (my go-to) to be quite watered down. That said, flavor is always good. Service is good, and the restaurant is cozy, but BKK101 is definitely best for take-out.
Came with a group of 7 ~6:30 PM on a Saturday, we were able to be seated immediately. Location: Located in a small strip mall, there was free parking. Ambiance: Very cozy interior with warm lighting. Great vibes for a group dinner. Food: Tom Yum soup was delicious and the large size yielded 7 small bowls. The amber curry was on the runny side, more like soup with chicken, potatoes, and carrots. Flavor was good, though I will say I ordered no spicy but it definitely still had a kick to it. The portion size was reasonable for the price. The tofu in the noodle dishes were a bit hit. Service: Great service, came to refill our waters and checked in on us a couple of times.
TLTR: A basic staple that offers basic food. They can't go wrong. High amounts of MSG. Attentive staff. Good parking. Great for lunch specials. Location: Located in a small plaza with a decent amount of free parking. Very easily identifiable. Ambiance/Service: I arrived during their lunch specials so around 1pm. Inside was very cute and more on a newer trendy restaurant. They had a cute wall with chalk writing, and a clock for LA TIME and Bangkok Time. There was a ton of staff. I was greeted by the cashier/waiter/server? I was shown to my seat and was brought the menus and water quick. Very patient and understanding with all my questions. This locations feels a little more "informal" than other normal restaurants. They're cooks/server? Scattered out on the tables and using their phones. I didn't mind as i understood there was no one else but me there. The bathroom was very clean. Food: I ordered the Lunch special Pad See Ew. I am not a expert in Thai food and don't have much experience with it but it was good. No complains. Tasted like many other locations. The noodle items do not come with rice, so i ordered a side of rice. I am very happy that the side of rice was cheap, I've seen other places that charge so much for it. The one thing that i must say about the food is, i can agree with HEAVY amount of MSG and salt. I am not sensitive to it but i can tell when it's too much. I had a reaction on my lips, made it feel tingly. The little side salad and the fried roll was good.
Everything here was so perfect and delicious! The restaurant itself also feels very cozy with nice little touches to emphasize that it's "Mom's Kitchen" and all of their ties to Thailand. All that plus free parking? Amazing. We got the Bangkok Roll, Pad See Ew with duck, and the Crispy Chicken Cashew Nut. Perfect amount of food for 2 people. We got the Pad See Ew medium spicy and it was ACTUALLY medium spicy. A pleasant warm heat, that won't make you go crazy. I would definitely go for the medium spice level again (even though my boyfriend might prefer the mild next time lol). Our waitress recommended rice for the Crispy Chicken dish but it was really fine without it. It seems like they have a nice local following. We sat down at around 8:30 on a Sunday night and just before we were wrapping up, a group of 9 people came in. Clearly some had been before and some hadn't, we heard them say to each other "Isn't it SO GOOD?" over and over. It was sweet to see the support! I would definitely come back, and I will for sure be ordering take out from here in the future too. Plus, it looks like they have a really great weekday lunch menu?! If I worked in the area, I'd be here all the time.
